Hi, I'm Mickey — and I'm so glad you're here.

I'm a Minnesota mom who is happiest on the back of a horse, chasing my kids around the yard, planning the next trip on the map, or taking in those small, quiet moments we rarely experience twice.

Those might be my favorite. The way light hits just right. The look on someone's face in an unguarded moment. The little details that make something feel completely, unmistakably you.

Fair warning, though — I'm almost always the one behind the camera, so you won't find many photos of me around here.

I've always been drawn to the in-between moments — the ones that go by fast if you're not paying attention.

Where It Started

Two things I've always carried.

The ones that make your heart beat a little faster — or a little tighter — when you look back. Photography gave me a way to catch them, and hold onto them.

Frost & Flint grew out of that. The name comes from two things I've always carried with me: the cold, clear stillness of a Minnesota winter morning, and the spark of a flint striking steel — the moment something quiet turns into something alive. That's what I'm always trying to find in a photo.
