we got hitched.
Hi everyone,
We have some news…
No big ceremony. No aisle. No months of planning.
Just us, a courthouse, and a couple of witnesses. Which honestly feels pretty on-brand for how we've done everything so far.
Because if you know our story, you know we've never really followed the "normal" timeline.
how it started.
We met on a dating app during COVID, so right from the start, things were a little unconventional. Not long after that, we had a baby.
(We're still going to blame COVID for that one — but we're so thankful for him.)
Instead of slowly getting to know each other, we jumped straight into figuring out life and parenthood at the same time.
Trial by fire — but somehow, it worked.
gooseberry falls.
In May of 2022, Triston proposed at Gooseberry Falls. We had just found out we were pregnant with our wild girl, and we were out on a hike in one of our favorite places — Teddy on his back, dogs along for the adventure like always.
Poor Teddy couldn't figure out why Dad kept stopping in random scenic spots and refusing to just keep hiking.
That moment felt like the beginning of something big.
And we really tried to make it big.
life had other plans.
We planned a wedding close to home. Then we planned one in Montana. Then we planned…
And every time we got close, life had other plans. Something broke, something shifted, or our finances needed to go somewhere a little more practical.
(At least the truck shouldn't need any more work — and we did buy our first house.)
Somewhere along the way, we looked around and realized we already had the life people usually build after the wedding. The kids, the home, the responsibilities, the late nights, the early mornings — all of it.
So it became easy to say: we'll get to it eventually.
until recently.
In April, I had a medical scare that really shook us. It forced us into conversations we hadn't had yet — and made us realize that if something had gone wrong, things might not have worked the way we would have wanted.
So we stopped waiting.
And we got married.
Not in a big, planned-out way — but in a way that meant something to us, exactly when it needed to.
here's the thing…
As much as that moment mattered, it doesn't feel complete without the people who have watched us grow through all of this. The people who've seen the messy, the chaotic, the beautiful parts of our story — and been part of it.
So while we may have handled the legal part quietly, we fully plan on celebrating this loudly.
Between now and then, the goal is simple: focus on health, soak up time with our kids, and get to a place where we can really be present for that day.
Because when it comes, it won't just be a wedding. It'll be a celebration of everything we've been through to get here — and everything that comes next.
